Phoenix, Arizona sighting
Date of Sighting: March 13, 1997
Location of Sighting: Phoenix, AZ
Brief Description: a “V” shaped object containing 6-8 lights was seen hovering and flying very slowly over downtown Phoenix, AZ.
Full Description: A friend and I were on South Mountain at around 8:00 pm looking out with a complete view of the entire city of Phoenix. We noticed lights moving from the north slowly over the city headed towards us. We watched it for quite awhile as it moved over the city until it reached the approximate area of Indian School Road and they went straight up into the sky and disappeared.
Appearance: they were round bright orbs all about the same size spread over about 2 or 3 city blocks (maybe larger). They were all a bright white/yellow color. You couldnt actually see an object these lights were attached to but you could sense they were attached to a solid object by the way they maintained their distance and stability as they moved over the city.
Size: by the view we had it appeared it was about 2 or 3 city blocks wide
Distance: the angle I was seeing the object from I couldnt tell the altitude of it.
Day/Night: Daytime
Time: 8:00 pm
Surroundings: it was over the city. Where it flew there were no tall buildings. We thought it was flying towards the airport but it disappeared before it got that far south
Duration: unsure
Witnesses: 2
Explanations: no I had been on this mountain many times day and night and this was like nothing I had ever seen before. ALL the lights moved as if they were attached to a solid object. They were NOT independent of one another!
